By PDAStreet.com Staff Sun Microsystems has selected Aligo to provide mobile-enabling technology for upcoming Sun ONE products. Sun ONE software products enable service providers or enterprises to access data, such as sales force automation and enterprise resource planning, from disparate back-end systems using Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) standards. By incorporating Aligo's M-1 Mobile Application Server technology, the companies said customers using the Sun ONE product line can optimize the productivity and efficiency of mobile workers, increasing their ability to access applications, data, and content. Under this multi-component technology licensing agreement, new Sun ONE software featuring Aligo technology should be released in the beginning of next year. Aligo said its technology supports all types and makes of mobile devices, including Internet-ready mobile phones, Palm and Pocket PC devices, RIM Blackberry devices, and laptops. According to the companies, the components Sun has licensed from Aligo help users deploy applications such as mobile field service, field sales and groupware. These components are Web Services ready.
