Zagat today updated the electronic version of its popular entertainment guide for the Palm, Windows Mobile and BlackBerry platforms.

Version 5.0 of Zagat to Go, which actually merges over 75 Zagat guides, is available from Handmark and includes a number of enhancements, such as the addition of Top Hotels, Resorts and Spa listings and America's Top Golf Courses guide. It also updates Zagat to Go's signature 25,000 restaurants and nightspot listings for over 70 cities worldwide.

Handmark says the U.S. and International Top Hotels, Resorts and Spa guides covers lodgings, as determined by nearly 22,000 travelers and travel professionals. America's Top Golf Courses guide rates the most popular golf courses in the United States based on the opinions of nearly 6,000 golfers.

   

The software, as before, features automated wireless monthly content and rating updates, detailed street-level maps, and turn-by-turn driving directions.

Users can send an SMS text message that lets the recipient download and try Zagat To Go on their own device through Handmark's SHARE technology. There's also one-click calling to restaurants and hotels.

Zagat To Go 5.0 is a free upgrade for existing customers, $24.95 for those renewing their subscription, and $29.95 new.
