Okay, we know that T-Mobile has released a software upgrade to improve Wi-Fi and audio performance for those who already own its BlackBerry Curve 8320. For those who don't own this smartphone but want to purchase it we have even better news, however.

You can now get the 8320 for free through Amazon.com. The price for the 8320 is $124.99 with a new service plan (so it's not exactly free, but still a great deal), a savings of $225 (64 percent) off the smartphone's $349.99 asking price. With additional rebates and discounts the price drops down to nothing for the actual device itself.

In addition to having to commit to service, which you would have to even if you bought the 8320 at full price anyway, there's an additional caveat, however: You must behave yourself for 181 days.

Here's what that entails:

  •  Pay your balance due to T-Mobile each month and otherwise maintain your account in good standing.
  •   Not disconnect this T-Mobile line of service.
  •   Not transfer this equipment to another T-Mobile line of service.
  •  Not change your T-Mobile service rate plan to a lower monthly service rate.
  •  Nnot use this line of service to replace an existing account with T-Mobile.

If these conditions are not met, Amazon.com will charge your credit card an additional $250.
