This tip, from RIM's
BlackBerry Connection newsletter, explains how you can make your e-mails appear more consistant.
If you're someone whose contacts have already noticed the speed of your email response, here's a way to impress them even more. By changing
your "sent from" address you can make your address consistent no matter whether you're sending email from your BlackBerry® smartphone or other
email accounts so that all your responses seem to come from the same branded and professional email address all the time. Here's how:
- Figure out which version of BlackBerry Internet Service you are using. If you need help, go here. If you are using BlackBerry Internet
Service 2.x, go to step 2, and if you are using BlackBerry Internet Service 1.8, scroll down to the next set of numbered instructions
on this page.
- Login to the BlackBerry Internet Service web site for your service provider.
- Find the account for which you'd like to change the "Sent From" address and click on the "Edit" icon.

- In the "Reply To" field, type in the email address you would like to use as your "Sent From" address.

- Click "Save" to confirm the changes.
- If the change was successful a pop-up will display a message that says "Email account successfully updated."
- Click "OK" to return to the BlackBerry Internet Service account main page.
For BlackBerry Internet Service 1.8
- Login to the BlackBerry Internet Service web site for your service provider.
- Select "Profile".
- Select "Sent From" address.
- Select one of the following options:
- I want my "Sent From" address to be the default handheld email address.
- I want the email account below to be my "Sent From" address.
(Note: This is a drop-down list including all integrated email addresses.)
- I want to customize my "Sent From" address to be the email address entered below.
(Note: You can input any email address in this field.)
- Select "Submit" to save the changes.
