By James Alan Miller
As with the Palm OS and Windows Mobile versions of Documents To Go, the BlackBerry edition will sport DataViz's InTact technology to make sure the formatting and layout of documents are maintained when edited on a BlackBerry. This means, for example, all file formattingeven the complex (like headers and footers, macros and animations)is reflected when a file is opened on a BlackBerry after being received from a desktop or e-mailed as an attachment directly from a BlackBerry to another handheld or a PC. In addition to Microsoft Office files, users can view Adobe PDF files and decompress zipped attachments with Documents to Go. It also supports charting and password protected Excel and Word files. Documents To Go is available for Symbian UIQ and Nokia S80 smartphones in addition to the previously mentioned mobile-device platforms. DataViz did not say when it would release the BlackBerry version of Documents To Go or how much it'll go for. All the company would say is that the software will ship later this year. You can sign up to learn when Documents To GO for BlackBerry is released on DataViz's Web site. It is giving demonstrations of the application during RIM's Wireless Enterprise Symposium, which starts tomorrow and runs through Thursday, however. Related Links:
