Motorola Q9m on the Very Near Horizon for Verizon

By James Alan Miller
August 20, 2007

Motorola's should introduce the follow up to the Motorola Q, called the Q9m, this Wednesday, according to a article on Brighthand. Verizon Wireless will be the first carrier to offer the smartphone, followed by Sprint at some unspecified later date.

You'll supposedly be able to get the Q9m for as low as $350 with a two-year agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate. The smartphone will reportedly list for $470.

As you can from these pictures, the Q9m sports an updated, more modern look than the original Q, as well as a new horseshoe-shaped home screen with shortcuts to applications and features on two sides of the shoe.

It is supposed to be compatible with Verizon’s VCast multimedia streaming and download service.

It should run on the Standard version of Windows Mobile 6—so no touch screen—and include 64MB of RAM, 128MB of ROM, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and a miniSD card slot. No 3G or Wi-Fi, unfortunately.
