By Melissa Oxendale
Friday, at least some T-Mobile Stores started selling the new BlackBerry Curve 8320, ahead of today’s official launch date. It sells for $250 with a two-year contact and after a rebate.
Available in grey and pale gold, this is the first and only Curve officially available for T-Mobile. The main difference between it and the AT&T Curve is the addition of Wi-Fi. The 8320 does work over Wi-Fi for both data (i.e. Web browsing) as well as voice over IP phone calls. I had no more than set mine to Wi-Fi when I received phone call from work. It wasn't until I hung up that I realized I had just received my first Wi-Fi phone call on the 8320 What I heard from the T-Mobile store is that at the last minute T-Mobile decided to let the stores start selling their 8320s on Friday, a couple of days early, to try and counteract the recent release of the AT&T BlackBerry 8820. The new AT&Y BlackBerry has Wi-Fi and GPS, but lacks the Curve's camera.
I took a few pictures of the new Curve with the old Curve, along with a Pearl and the new 8820.
