Tip: Smartphone - Easy Way to Get Directions on Desktop for Mobile

Here's a convenient way to get directions off your computer and onto your smartphone.

At your desk, point your browser to maps.live.com. Type in your origin and destination and wait for the directions to come up. Then, once you've got them, click on the "Send to…" link in the top of the table containing the directions.

The dialog box that pops up prompts you for your mobile phone number.

Type your smartphone number in and press send. Your phone should receive the message shortly. The message will contain a link that you then click to view your driving directions. With luck, you'll have a co-pilot who can navigate the handheld while you watch the traffic.
