The right to vote may be a hallmark of democracy, but it's one many citizens decline to exercise. A team of celebrities produced and is now distributing a get-out-the-vote video that can be viewed on line or on your mobile device.

Verizon Wireless has even made two versions of the video available via its V CAST service. Among the movie's participants are Jason Ritter, Stephen Root, Susan Sarandon, Kate Walsh and the Muppets. The artists worked through the nonprofit, nonpartisan Creative Coalition.

Verizon Wireless customers can watch the film, YouVote, by visiting the Election '08 category on V CAST and then selecting YouVote and then either the one- or three-minute video, the company says.

Another tenet of our democracy is free speech, but whether you're advocating or ranting your voice loses its authority when you don't participate in electing the government you're discussing. If you're a committed voter, tip this video to someone you know who might skip the polls.
