Motorola has rolled out its M-Wallet mobile e-commerce platform in China.

Rather than going to the bank, Motorola intends for customers to make account inquiries, money transfers, bill payments, utility payments and e-ticketing via the M-Wallet platform. M-Wallet technology also allows you to use mobile phones for everyday tasks such as buying groceries and making a car payment.

The mobile-payment company Union Mobile Pay is a partner in the project.

Users can install M-Wallet application on their mobile phones that have Java and register their banking accounts to the mobile phones with UMPay.

According to Motorola, the M-Wallet service's passcode activation, inactive time-out security, and secure over-the-air transaction keep the data transfer safe.
