T-Mobile Europe to Boost Consumer Services in 2008

By Vangie Beal
February 26, 2008

This past week T-Mobile announced plans to boost consumer services throughout 2008.

Starting in March, the company will partner with Yahoo, which replaces Google, to offer mobile search and will also expand partnerships for its social networking services by cooperating with communities such as YouTube, MySpace, Flickr and bebo.

T-Mobile also says the company will launch mobile instant messaging services in leading European markets, taking advantage of partnerships with providers of Windows Live Messenger, ICQ, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) and Yahoo! Messenger. T-Mobile also plans to reduce roaming charges for data usage in Europe, and will implement a uniform roaming charge for data connections.
