Here, we reveal secret to replicating your computer's Alt-Tab function is for the BlackBerry (we tried it on a Pearl 8120). The feature, you must know, lets you scroll through all open programs and select the one you want to view.

It's a quick way to toggle between Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, open email messages and your web browser without removing your fingers from the keyboard.

On your BlackBerry, you can open multiple applications and toggle among them using Alt-Escape (the rounded arrow key to the right of the trackball). If you continue holding down the Alt key and press the Escape key, you will see icons for all your programs. When you release the keys, you're in the program you selected.

This technique is faster and smoother than using the escape key to get back to the home screen every time you want to switch applications.
