The Zumobi browser platform - available for Windows Mobile and BlackBerry - uses selectable Tiles (widgets) to give users easy access to the sites they visit most often. The company behind the browser, also called Zumobi, has just announced the addition of a number new widgets to the BlackBerry edition of the browser.

These include tiles that deliver direct access to NPR, the AP Olympics report, Major League Baseball as well as social networking sites Facebook and Twitter. As with other Zumobi widgets, the new ones cache content for quicker retrieval of fresh information.

Also, users can now create their own Zumobi mobile widgets to target whatever Web content they choose through a new tile Creation Wizard. Whether a personal blog or an RSS feed, the tile you create has your own design and is easily shared with all your friends. Last month, Zumobi introduced the Tile Wizard for Windows Mobile users.

Zumobi spun out of Microsoft's development lab last year, when it first went to market with its Zooming User Interface.

Next on the drawing board for Zumobi is adding support for high-end J2ME handsets.
