By Naomi Graychase
RIM and Canadian carrier Rogers today announced the availability of the new Wi-Fi-enabled BlackBerry Bold. The BlackBerry Bold (aka BlackBerry 9000) will be available to Canadian consumers from Rogers starting today for C$399.99 with any three-year voice and data plan over C$45 per month. The new smartphone is designed for business professionals and power users. It features a newly designed, precision QWERTY keyboard, built-in GPS, and, according to RIM, enterprise-grade Wi-Fi. Multimedia capabilities include a 2MP camera with video recording, which may prevent some corporate users from being able to adopt it for business use. Also included, an advanced media player for music, videos, and photo viewing. Those whove gotten early peeks at the device are gushing over the reputedly see-it-to-believe-it display quality that is rumored to have earned the newest BlackBerry its name (Bold).
