957 memory
Does anybody know if a 5mg device can have its memory upgraded to 8mg?If not, can the memory on the device be partitioned in order to better use the memory for wireless applications?

Push email is not enough!
Hi,my company replaced Palm Vx with BB7230 - just to get us push email on the go. Well - email on the go is not really usefull, as the BB has difficulties handling attachments. Web browsing is inadequate and constant ability to receive emails is not really an advantage, as most locations, where I spend my time for professional purposes ar equiped either with phone or wifi. The other applications (Calendar, To do and address book) are way (WAY!) worse than say, iambic's Agendus on the palm! I wish I could go back to my Palm!

RIM is best thus far
The 957 is the legacy device for RIM. The new GSM/GPRS devices with HTML compatibility and faster network speeds are better -- the GPRS networks are less pervasive than the Mobitex network on which runs the 957. The 957, running on the Mobitex network, is extremely reliable in North America. The battery life is two weeks -- you won't run it down! I had it on my boat for two weeks and it didn't rundown. It can hold thousands of emails. With a Blackberry Enterprise Server, it gets attachments and wireless calendaring. RIM has the best wireless email system thus far, and they are improving it. Others are behind -- look at JPMobile.

Primitive
Sorry to be, Why is it so diffcult to make a device/os that is compatible with the applictations we use day to day bussiness like Office, Quicken, Tons of thirdparty PC apps,Why do they create a device/os that runs so primitive applications like alarm, texteditor and calculator. Recent technology allows 256MB/1GB in a Square inch card, we see all the time in Digital/Video camera. and Powerfull CPU's. What's the problem I dont get it,

QWERY is neeeded!
The 857 Blackbery is a simple and useful device unforunately, it doesn't have any backlite on keyboard-Qwuery. Also, lack of a numerous softwares to download in the 857. Have you guys heard about the Blackberry ALIKE called HUNTEC under Weblink Wireless. I bet this one is going to be MIND-BOGGLING!

Press orange/num/r simultaniously and you will be able to see "radio specific values and settings. The same can be done with or/num/b for battery stats.......Any one know more?

Time saver
Greatly reduces voice mail tag and documents important communications. As a Palm user for years, the change to Blackberry has dramatically improved my ability to service my clients. I gave the laptop to my kids.

Good Product
Been a Palm user since the IBM Wordpad days, and also use a Pocket PC.The RIM has the potential to be a great device. A few things missing are the ability to search accross all applications, viewing of all saved messages, backlight keyboard, infrared support, external memory slot, multimedia capability. Not many applications as of yet. VNC support would be great, drawing applications. Could be a great MIS tool.
