Info Needed?
Dear Sirs;I am an Iranian student in TEHRAN and looking for a cell phone with the following characteristics: 1. Calling and Answering! What a natural Mobile phone demands! 2. Connectable to Internet via analog lines and wired dial up connection. 3. Connectable to Internet via wireless digital lines ex. With Bluetooth Technology. 4. Let me check my Emails in the Internet So it must have the flexibility to read the Web pages and HTML browsers. Can this system have the following options? Which one has these characteristics?? The less price the better. Please also let me know the price of new and used ones. Warm Regards; BAHMAN

Blackberry 6710
I recently acquired a brand new 6710 ... hard to belive considering this things haven't been made for a while now, but withiin an hour of opening the box I was up and running, and incredibly impressed. This is my first Blackberry and although I gave up all the flare and circumstance surround polyphonic ringtones and color screens, I must admit that I am far, far happier with this device than with ANY phone I have ever used. It is simple and intuitive to use and very well laid out. In my opinion, so-called "smartphones" provided too much fluff and garbage for everyday use and a camaera is the last thing I would want on a phone! You can bet I'm stuck on blackberry now and will back RIM up 100%.

To large for phone calls - expensive PDA
I'm sorry to be the one to disagree about the Blackberry, however, I am disappointed. The width of the Blackberry is much to large for an average person to use it's phone feature. Everything else reminds me of a PDA with the information more difficult to input using the tiny keyboard and shift keys. The web browser, while being nice, gets little use from me because of how slow it is. One good thing is the battery life which is excellent.

The keyboard on all RIM devices are good for short responses to quick Emails...but to immensely improve the utilization of this PDA, compatibility with a stowaway portable, full-sized keyboard is extremely desireable. Almost all other PDA's allow this accessory. I've searched for over a year...your PDA is less usable for those of us in conferences, airports, and in business meetings that require note taking, long explanations to emails, and freedom from the laptop's that we must lug along. Do yourselves a favor...either make a portable fold out full sized keyboard...or allow compatibility to one on the market. The roll out one is a looser.

A real improvement
This T-Mobile GPRS Blackberry has everything I need: - global roaming - voice service with blackberry or headset - travel charger - swivelling belt clip - excellent battery life - excellent integration with my corporate email - competitive airtime rates I have used blackberry's for over 3 years, primarily the small RIM 950 on the Bellsouth network. This provides the roaming and voice service I need. What more could I want? Hard to think of anything - perhaps an option to do true web browsing instead of just WAP, perhaps a built-in attachment viewer.

Better than expected.
I needed a PDA, but I did not want to carry more than one mobile device. I finally narrowed my search down to the Handspring Treo 270 and BlackBerry 6710. RIM's e-mail abilities won over Handspring's PDA functions and color screen. However, it is the PDA functions on the BlackBerry that I have been so impressed with. It it like taking Microsoft Outlook on the road with you. I can't imagine needing any other applications. Additionally, the scroll and keyboard are much better than a stylus. I took the device out of the box and I was sending e-mail and making calls with my sync'd contacts within the hour.
