Webmessenger - Message Alerts application for Blackberry allows you to
define rules that are automatically applied on incoming E-mail and SMS
messages. It works with BB OS 3.6 and above.
The functionality is similar to the one provided by the Rules Wizard in MS
Outlook.
The rule conditions can be defined based on the Subject:, From:, To: , CC:
fields or the message content.
The actions performed when a rule is satisfied can be:
- a customized audio and vibrate notification
- a pop-up dialog notification
- forwarding or deleting of the e-mail, marking the e-mail as read.
- retrieving the entire e-mail (or up to certain number of KB).
Rules can also be created through the context menus in the Inbox and Address
Book applications.
If you select menu for an email in the inbox it will
launch the Rule definition screen. Selecting on this screen will
automatically populate the condition with the address from the
current email.
In addition there is an option to keep the pop-up alert notification on the
screen until a key is pressed - in this way you will not miss an important
message that was received and burried down in your inbox folder.
The Settings screen allows defining the time of day and week when the
rules/alerts are active.
The application runs in the background and is automatically launched with
the OS.
We believe that this application could be especially valuable to people that
receive many e-mails and/or SMSes and want to be able to filter the
important ones and be notified when a specific message is received.
